Imphal, September 15 2026: The Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipur University, in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council, Manipur Institute of Technology (IIC-MIT), observed National Engineers' Day 2026 at its campus today.

The National Engineers' Dayis observed every year on the birth anniversary of legendary Indian engineer and statesman Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

The day was observed under the theme "Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future through Innovation and Digitalization".

Prof Basanta Singh, Dean, School of Engineering, Manipur University; Prof Th Suresh Singh, Principal, Manipur Institute of Technology, faculty members and students attended the event.

The day was also observed by the Institute of Engineers (India) Manipur State Centre at the Government Polytechnic, Takyel.

Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited Chief Engineer Thokchom Nandakishwar, Govt Polytechnic Principal L Shamungou attended the observance.
