Lions Club reaches out to senior citizens

Imphal, January 15 2026:
As part of its Hunger Alleviation project, the Lions Club of Imphal on Thursday donated food items to the Old Age Home, managed by All Manipur Senior Citizen Welfare Association, Mongsangei.
Today, members of Lions Club of Imphal handed over food items such as rice, daal, fresh vegetables, milk powder, tea leaves, etc worth about Rs 25,000 to the senior citizens staying at the Old Age Home in Mongsangei.
As per a release issued by Lions Club of Imphal, the items were sponsored by Dr W.Gopimohan Singh, past district governor of District 322D and W Bhaktaraj Singh in fond memory of their father (Late) W Prahlad Singh.
Manas Maisnam, president of Lions Club of Imphal, said that Lions International had just observed "Week of Service" on Hunger from January 3 to 11, 2026 on the theme "Hunger Free India" .
"Today's activity by the Club is the culmination of the week-long service on Hunger", he added.
B Sanamacha Sharma, general secretary of All Manipur Senior Citizen Welfare Association, expressed his appreciation to the Lions Club of Imphal for the generous support.
The programme was attended by senior members of Lions Club of Imphal and office bearers of All Manipur Senior Citizen Welfare Association.
