Imphal, August 13 2024: Dr Pheiroijam Herojit, a dentist, has received a patent right for his invention to measure root canal length during root canal treatment.

Dr Herojit is the eldest son of Ph Sarat Singh and Ph ongbi Sobita Devi of Kongpal Kongkham Leikai and he is the Chief Dental Surgeon of Composite Hospital, CRPF based at Guwahati, Assam.

Notably, accurate measurement of root canal length is a crucial step for the success of RCT.

The invention of Dr Herojit involves use of a special biocompatible dye coated on root canal material capable of changing at various pH levels.

It is said that Dr Herojit was accorded the patent right by the Government of India as his method of treatment not only reduces the chance of failure but also offers safe and optimal results.
