A Court here today allowed the Manipur police to take two People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Prepak) militants arrested from Jadavpore on April eight on transit remand.
The Court of acting SDGM, Alipore, Suresh Biswakarma on request of the Manipur police allowed self-styled captain Rakesh Singh alias Leishamba and self styled lieutenant R K Dhaneswar alias Chinklampa, who were in judicial custody, to be taken on transit remand as cases were pending against them in that State.
Rakesh and Dhaneswar, who were staying in a hotel for the past one month, were arrested by the CID and Military Intelligence on information given by the outfit's self-styled finance secretary Sanjay Singh and its self-styled political secretary Laishram Ibobi Singh, who were arrested from Imphal airport on April seven.
The arrest of the duo brought to light the growing preference of the metropolis as a hideout for militant groups.

Two PREPAK cadres held : Troops of 32 Assam Rifles arrested two PREPAK cadres from Iroishemba yesterday, said the PRO of Assam Rifles in a statement today.
The cadres are identified as Y Sanjoy Meitei (26) of Lambuikhong Thangjam Leikai and Moirangthem Basanta (22) of Iroishemba Mamang Leikai.
One PLA cadre, H Amujao was also arrested by 18 AR men from Kampang Khullen yesterday.
