Road Safety Awareness Programme conducted

Under the National Road Safety Month 2025, Road Safety Awareness Programme was conducted on January 12, 2025 at the Auditorium Hall of Little Star English Hr Secondary School, Thoubal Haokha.
The programme was jointly organized by Institute of Driver Training and Research Centre (IDTC) Manipur under the aegis of Transport Department, Government of Manipur.
It aims to sensitize common errors while driving and educate them about the importance of road safety and their role in keeping roads safe.
The programme was graced by Y Sunanta Singh, DSP (HQ) and DSP Traffic, Thoubal, Y Manglem Singh, principal of Little Star English Hr Sr School and Shantikumar Naorem, member secretary, IDTRC Manipur as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Shantikumar Naorem, said that such awareness programmes should not be observed only for a month but for a whole year since accidents are unpredictable.
Further he also added that each and every driver has his/her own unique feature of driving skill which includes things like traffic rules, alertness, etc.
He also intended to organize such a type of programme frequently in future.
Y Sunanta also added that since traffic personnel are very less in number, collective responsibility of all sections of the society is must in this juncture.
He continued that traffic police also should take their responsibility in a proper channel with sincerity.
Y Manglem, Principal of Little Star English Hr Sr School highlighted the importance of following traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
