Writers' Association Kakching observes 52nd Foundation Day

Kakching, February 09 2025: The 52nd foundation day of Writers' Association, Kakching was held today with a felicitation programme at the office of Library and Information Centre, Kakching.

The event was graced by Nongmaithem Nimai as chief guest, Manipur State Kala Academy Imphal, Retd Secretary, S Bedeshwor as president, and JN Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal, Retd Director, Laipubam Upendra and District Forest Officer, Chandel, Dr Naorem Munal Meitei as guests of honour.

At the event, dignitaries and other attendees observed a two-minute silence to honour the late writers of the State and prayed for their souls to rest in peace in heavenly abode.

The dignitaries also released a yearly journal of Writers' Association, Kakching titled "Natik Nangal" during the event and handed it to the people.

Later, Dr Rashini Yengkhom (IPS) who cracked UPSC last year and now serves as Superintendent of Police at Crime Branch Manipur was honoured along with members who have extended support to the association and sponsored the awards.

At the event, Sahitya Bhusan award was presented to Pukhrambam Nimai, Kabya Bhusan to Yengkhom Bihari, Sangeet Bhusan to Yaikhom Ibochou and Khumanthem Sundari.

Naorem Amuyaima Singh Pandit Achouba Ningsing Award was presented to Naorem Chandramani, Writers Association Kakching Literary Award to Nongmaithem Pramodhini, Writers Association Lifetime Achievement Award (Sahitya) to Late Phukhrambam Kunjo and Sougaijam Nodia Gold Medal 2023 (Pung) was presented to Waikhom Kulachandra.

The media persons of Kakching area and other achievers of Kakching District who have excelled in various fields were also felicitated with certificates.
