'Mediation for the Nation' campaign wraps up, 171 cases settled

The Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) has successfully concluded the 90-days intensive mediation drive, "Mediation For The Nation Campaign" .
As per a release issued by MASLSA, the campaign was conducted under the aegis of the Mediation & Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India and the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) .
The special drive was launched across the country to settle pending cases in the Taluka Courts, District Courts, and High Courts of India through mediation.
Altogether, 1423 cases were referred for mediation during the 90-days campaign which includes both High Court as well as District Courts cases.
Out of which, 171 cases were successfully settled through mediation.
A total of 27 Judicial Officers and 102 Advocates were involved as trained mediators during the campaign.
The mediation drive was conducted at High Court of Manipur, office of MASLSA, ADR Centre, Lamphelpat as well as at every District Court Complexes.
The "Mediation for the Nation" campaign was conceptualized under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India and Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, NALSA and Chairman, MCPC.
MASLSA expressed its gratitude to Justice Surya Kant; Justice M Sundar, Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur & Patron-in-Chief, MASLSA; and Justice A Bimol Singh, Executive Chairman, MASLSA for their guidance and constant monitoring throughout the campaign.
MASLSA also appealed to all the public and stakeholders to refer their pending as well pre-litigation disputes for mediation to the ADR Centre, Lamphelpat or to the District Legal Services Authority concerned for settlement.
