Health talk, winter ENT camp conducted

The Department of Community Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised a Health Talk Programme at the Youth Development Club, Yurembam Awing Leikai Community Hall as part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives.
The programme aimed to extend advanced medical awareness and essential healthcare services to people residing in remote and underserved areas who often lack adequate access to proper medical facilities.
The event was held under the guidance of Dr Shantibala K, Head, Department of Community Medicine, RIMS, and was led by Meghachandra, Health Educator, who coordinated the health talk activities.
Dr Homendro Singh, District TB Officer, Imphal West, delivered an insightful address focusing on tuberculosis awareness, early detection, and the importance of timely treatment.
Following this, interns from the department presented an informative session on tuberculosis, highlighting symptoms, preventive measures, and available treatment options under national health programmes.
As part of the health outreach, attendees were provided free health check-ups, including urine protein and sugar tests, blood group testing, and free distribution of essential medicines.
Meanwhile, Shija Hospitals and Research Institute in collaboration with ISTV Network, organised a Free Winter ENT Camp at ISTV Network premises in Imphal today.
The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare and early diagnosis of ENT-related conditions among media professionals.
A medical team led by Dr Rajlakshmi Kh, Consultant ENT Surgeon at Shija Hospitals, provided free consultations during the camp.
Around 40 staff members of ISTV Network underwent clinical evaluation and received medical advice.
Participants will also be offered free follow-up consultations, along with discounts on relevant investigations and procedures as recommended by the medical team.
