Imphal, November 06 2008: The proposed NH 39 and NH 53 bandh and picketing of Tamenglong DC office called by Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) from November 7 against the reported physical assault by 6th MR personnel on Kachakthuina Rongmei and Adipou Pamei have been suspended following an understanding with the Government.

According to a ZSUM release, the agreement was struck during a meeting between its representatives, the Chief Minister, HAC Vice-Chairman Khangthuanang and MLA Awangbou Newmai at the Chief Minister's chamber.

During the meeting, it was agreed to suspend the three 6th MR personnel involved in the assault and to compensate the injured victims, added the release.
