Imphal, November 05:
Taking strong exception to the October 31 ambush at Sorbung village, the Tangkhul Naga Zingsho Longphang (TNZL) has condemned the incident.
A press release issued by TNZL asserted that since the time NSCN (IM) and the Government of India signed a ceasefire pact Ukhrul district has been the most peaceful area in Manipur but the October 31 incident shattered the peaceful atmosphere.
While appealing to all concerned not to launch such violent attacks in their area in future, the TNZL also asked the Assam Rifles not to harass the villagers in connection with the incident.
It also strongly condemned the alleged act of planting landmines by militants at Sorbung area saying that it was against the Geneva Convention.
