Imphal, June 05 2025: Road restoration work has started near Ipum Pat at Heikrumakhong along the Imphal-Pukhao Road which was cut off by the devastating floods in the State.

The restoration work is being taken up under the supervision of Khurai Assembly Constituency MLA L Susindro.

The floodwaters had washed away the eastern and western portion of Ipum Pat, cutting off the Imphal-Pukhao Road.

Speaking in this connection, Md Yunis Ahmed, chairperson, Kairang Khomidok Gram Panchayat said that the flood induced closure of Imphal-Pukhao Road at Heikrumakhong had posed many challenges to the public.

He extended gratitude to the Khurai AC MLA for initiating the restoration work of the road which connects Pangei.

Stating that Khurai Heikrumakhong, Khurai Konsam Leikai, Kairang, Khomidok and surrounding areas are some of the worst hit areas, Md Yunis sought the help of relevant authorities and public for the flood affected families.
