Vehicles transporting goods meant for repairing or construction of NH 39, and materials for press, medical, electricity and school shall be exempted from the purview of the ongoing indefinite economic blockade being imposed by the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) on NH 39, informed an SDSA release.
Saying that satisfactory documents should be produced by the transporters carrying goods which may be exempted from the blockade, it said prior information would be appreciated.
Reiterating its appeal to all the people, particularly the truck owners' association and drivers' union to extend their cooperation to the ongoing economic blockade, it said that movement of empty trucks on the highway shall be restricted.
Regretting the inconveniences being suffered by the people due to the blockade, the SDSA blamed the State Government for its utter failure to repair and maintain NH 39 properly.
Meanwhile, the Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills has conveyed support to the ongoing indefinite economic blockade on NH 39 .
Conveying equal concern over the pathetic condition of NH 39, the Manipur Drivers' Welfare Association has also pledged full support to the ongoing economic blockade.
