One killed, 7 injured

Thoubal, August 02 2026:
One person was killed and seven others were injured in a three-vehicle collision on National Highway-102 (Imphal-Moreh road) at Khangabok Sanilou, near the 3rd IRB, under Thoubal police station, Thoubal district, at around 10.20 pm yesterday.
According to police reports, the deceased has been identified as Ningthoujam Inaocha Singh, 38, son of Subol, a resident of Heirok Part-I, Chingdompok.
Police said the accident took place when an i20 car going from Wangjing towards Thoubal with three occupants collided with a Maruti van with two occupants and a Honda Activa with three riders coming from the opposite direction.
All three vehicles collided head-on.
In the incident, one person in the i20 died on the spot, and two others were injured.
The injured have been identified as Naorem Inaocha (44), son of Chinglentombi, a resident of Heirok Chingdompok, and Biken, son of late Tomal, a resident of Heirok Part-I, Chingol.
Both occupants of the Maruti van were injured.
They have been identified as Moirangthem Pradip (26), son of Deban, and Nongthombam Dasa Singh (20), son of Yaima, both residents of Tellou.
All the three travelling on the Honda Activa, were injured.
They have been identified as Md Suhail Abbas (24), son of Md Habibur Rahman; Md Jamal (32), son of late Abdul Zamar; and Md Imran (37), son of Yakub Ali, all residents of Mayang Imphal, Bengoon Salam Bazar.
All the injured persons were admitted to Thoubal District Hospital and are undergoing treatment.
Police have registered a case and seized the vehicles involved in the accident.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the JNIMS morgue for post-mortem examination.
