Imphal, November 01 2025:
The three-day National Environment Leadership Programme (ELP) 2025, organised by Students for Development (SFD) Manipur in collaboration with IIIT Manipur, Forest Department, Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, and the Loktak Development Authority, concluded successfully on Friday.
As per a release issued by SFD Manipur, the programme brought together 17 selected students from across India under the theme, "Explore, Engage, and Conserve".
Designed to nurture environmentally conscious leaders, ELP 2025 combined scientific learning, community interaction, and field-based experiences to inspire youth toward sustainable action.
Participants explored the rich ecological diversity of Loktak Lake and Keibul Lamjao National Park, gaining first hand exposure to the region's unique ecosystems and conservation challenges.
They engaged with local communities, researchers, and environmental experts to understand how traditional wisdom and modem science can together drive sustainable development.
Through workshops at the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) and field studies guided by the Forest Department, they connected classroom knowledge with real-world environmental issues.
The programme culminated with a valedictory session graced by DCF Amit Kaler, Asem Chanu Velorpati, and Dr Aribam Indira, who emphasized individual responsibility and youth leadership in environmental protection.
