EPFO urges employers to avail key schemes

The EPFO, ZO NER, has urged employers and workers across North East to avail key schemes to regularise past gaps, settle old disputes and receive incentives for creating jobs, and extend social security to more workers.
Speaking to reporters at the EPFO Special State Office at Keishampat Aheibam Leikai, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, Gaurav Srivastava said the Ministry has increased the wage ceiling for mandatory EPF coverage from 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per month.
On the schemes, Gaurav said, with an outlay of Rs 99,446 crore, the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) aims to support over 3.5 crore jobs, including about 1.92 crore first-time workers.

The scheme covers jobs created between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2027 .
Under the scheme, first-time EPFO members earning up to Rs 1 lakh per month get up to Rs 15,000 in two instalments (after 6 and 12 months of service), subject to completing a financial literacy programme.
Employers may get an incentive of up to Rs 3,000 per month per additional employee for two years (extended to four years for manufacturing) .
Employees' Enrolment Campaign
The Employees' Enrolment Campaign (EEC), 2026, which is open till October 31, is providing a one-time window for employers to enrol workers left out of EPF Coverage between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2026 .

VISHWAS, 2026, which will be open till December 28, 2026, provides a one-time dispute resolution scheme for damages and penalties.
