Pherzawl, June 30 2026:
In a significant step towards strengthening digital education infrastructure and ensure every student has a lifelong academic identity, the District Board of Education, Pherzawl, has intensified the rollout of the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) through a series of Mega APAAR ID Camps conducted across six educationclusters in the district.
The district-wide campaign was organised in collaboration with the Zonal Education Office, covering Senvon, Dr Thuoma, Sibapunkhal, Mualnuam, Leijangphai and Bukpi clusters, with the central programme held at HSA Hall, Rengkai.
The initiative focused on expediting APAAR ID generation while equipping school Heads, teachers and parents with the knowledge required to support the registration process.
A team of Master Trainers conducted interactive awareness sessions and live demonstrations on APAAR ID generation using the UDISE+ portal.
The programme forms part of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, under which every student is to receive a unique digital academic identity that securely stores educational records throughout their academic journey.
The initiative has yielded encouraging results, with 149 APAAR IDs generated so far, accounting for 27.42 percent of eligible students in the district.
Officials remain optimistic that the number will rise significantly as schools continue the registration process with improved understanding and better preparedness.
At the same time, officials acknowledged that mismatches between student details in the UDISE+ database and Aadhaar records remain a major hurdle, delaying successfill registration in several cases.
Schools have been urged to verify and align student data to ensure successfill ID generation.
The camps witnessed active participation from educators, parents, and students, reflecting a collective commitment to digital transformation in education.
The District Project Office appreciated the cooperation of all stakeholders and reiterated its commitment to achieving universal APAAR ID coverage in Pherzawl, ensuring that no eligible student is left behind in the district's digital education journey.
