JAC demands justice

The Joint Action Committee formed against the shooting of Kh Shyamjai has urged the authority concerned to give befitting punishment to those who were involved in the incident on or before January 5 .
Speaking in a press conference held today at Manipur Press Club, Y Tomcha, assistant secretary of the JAC said that befitting punishment should be given to those culprits who shot innocent Kh Shyamjai while he was returning home.
Kh Shyamjai s/o Kh Sangkar from Mayang Imphal Heigumangbi was allegedly shot and injured on right leg at around 1.30 pm of December 24 by Ch Chindananda, Ch Sanjoy and Asem Kishan.
A case has been filed in Mayang Imphal police station and the culprits arrested accordingly.
Tombi further mentioned that in connection with a altercation at Guno's residence on December 24, Kh Shyamjai was shot by the three said individuals while he was returning home.
Mentioning the release of three culprits without any case proceeding on December 28, the JAC further cautioned to start massive agitation if authority concerned failed to give befitting punishment to the culprits on or before the speculated date of January 5 .
