CBC RO Imphal organises Special Outreach Programme on Poshan Maah

Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal successfully conducted a 1-Day Special Outreach Programme oh Rashtriya Poshan Maah at Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai, Imphal West district today.
As per a release issued by CBC RO Imphal, the programme was organised in collaboration and convergence with CDPO, ICDS, Imphal West-II, on the theme, "Right Nutrition, Healthy Life" .
The event was graced by Sinam Tampha Devi, CDPO, ICDS, Imphal West-II; Asem Anita Devi, Community Health Officer, Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Sub Centre, Yumnam Huidrom; Sapam Dayani, secretary, Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai and village elders.
At the event, Sinam Tampha Devi enlightened the gathering on Vocal for Local for grassroots empowerment and self-reliance, addressing obesity by reducing sugar and oil consumption, Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE), Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB), Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices, participation of men in nutrition awareness and caregiving to foster shared responsibility in family and community health, and Poshan Tracker.
Asem Anita Devi also spoke on Anemia in adolescent girls.
Later, fruit bearing trees were also planted as a part of "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" .
An on-the-spot quiz contest with the target audience was also conducted and prizes were distributed in the form of diapers, notebooks, etc.
Sanitary pads, Iron, Calcium and Vitamin tablets were also distributed by the Community Health Officer.
A skit on the theme 'Anemia in adolescent girls' was presented by M/s Manipur Thang Ta Cultural Association, a private registered troupe of CBC, RO, Imphal.
The same troupe also presented Thang-Ta demonstrations including a sword duel between a girl on one side and two boys on the other under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao theme.
