Missing students rescued, handed over to guardians after counselling

The 16 students who went missing from the hostel premises of Peace and Freedom Academy, Thoubal Haokha today morning have been rescued by a team of QRT Mobile Team, Arambai Tenggol Unit 1 Thoubal at around 1.30 pm from Lishamlok Village in Senapati district.
The 16 students who are studying in Class X reportedly went missing today morning around 4 am from the hostel premises of the academy.
Subsequently the Principal of the academy lodged a missing complaint at the Thoubal Police Station which was later withdrawn after the students were found.
Upon receiving credible inputs from some truck drivers that the missing students are at Lishamlok Village in Senapati district near Kaina holy place in Imphal East, the team of Arambai Tenggol Unit 1 went to the place and rescued the 16 students.
The students were brought to the AT Unit 1 office at Thoubal Nongangkhong and were handed over to the school authority and guardians after a counselling session.
Later the rescued students had another session at the office of SP Thoubal attended by SP Rakesh Balwal IPS, officers of Thoubal Police, guardians and representatives of the school authority to clear any form of misunderstanding or hostility.
Speaking to the media in connection with the incident, Jotin Salam principal of the academy thanked the AT Unit 1 team and members of Private School Development Council (PSDC) Thoubal for rescuing the students.
It is speculated that the students ran away from the hostel after the teachers reprimanded them regarding some activities in connection with an upcoming function in the academy.
