Imphal, October 28 2008: A one day conference on quality education was held at Tamenglong district headquarters today.

In addition to around 250 members including Headmasters and village chiefs who attended the meeting, MPCC president Gaikhangam, Vice-Chairman of Hill Areas Committee Manipur Khangthuanang Panmei and MLA N Awangbou attended the conference as presidium members.

The conference also adopted several resolutions which included diligence and commitment by all those concerned towards bringing quality education and to work in coordination with village authorities and elected representatives.

Other resolutions included highlighting the genuine problems of inadequate infrastructure, shortage of teachers etc to the elected representatives and to do away with the practice of engaging substitute teachers.

The conference was jointly organised by ZEO Tamenglong and Tamenglong District Teachers' Association.
