The Manipur Drivers Association, Senapati District Truck Owners Association and the Senapati District Truck Drivers Union have sought attention of the Government to the poor condition of Chakabhama-Phesama road.
Chakabhama-Phesama road is a key bypass to Imphal-Dimapur highway (NH-2) .
A joint team of Manipur Drivers Association, Senapati District Truck Owners Association and the Senapati District Truck Drivers Union today made a direct assessment of the present condition of the bypass.
After inspecting the road, the associations appealed to the Government to develop the road and make it fit for smooth vehicular movement.
The road from Chakabhama, Mao to Phesama in Nagaland was developed as a bypass to NH-2 after the highway rendered impassable for around three months following massive landslides on May 31, 2025 at Phesama, Nagaland.
Pointing out that the bypass road has dilapidated extremely, the Senapati District Truck Drivers Union president Sundey has appealed to the Government to repair and develop the road so that vehicles, including heavy vehicles can move smoothly.
