Imphal, February 27 2025:
Imagi Meira has urged MLAs and BJP president A Sharda Devi to take responsibility for the consequences of their failure to form a Government and restore normalcy in Manipur.
Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club today, Imagi Meira secretary RK ongbi Khoirom Sunita said that the 7-day ultimatum they served to BJP State unit president on February 18 to choose a new leader and form the Government has expired.
Saying that they met Sharda Devi today again to discuss the formation of a new Government, she maintained that the response given by the BJP chief was unsatisfactory.
According to Sunita, Sharda Devi merely said that they are working to form the Government without providing any specific details.
She also claimed that Sharda Devi accused them of being politically motivated in their demand for a new Government.
Sunita claimed that the cancellation of the BJP MLAs' meeting on February 24 reveals the lack of commitment of the legislators to address the situation in Manipur.
There is no indication that a new Government will be formed anytime soon, Sunita continued and accused them (the MLAs) of taking the sentiment of the people for granted.
She said that they will launch a people's movement in response to the failure to form a new Government.
President's Rule was imposed in Manipur on February 13 days after N Biren Singh resigned as the Chief Minister on February 9 .
