Oriental College inks MoA with MIU

As a part of its post-accreditation quality enhancement strategy, Oriental College (Autonomous), Imphal, the first Government Autonomous College of Manipur, has entered into a landmark Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Manipur International University (MIU) .
The agreement was formally signed on June 26 by Dr Soraisam Ranjit Singh, Principal of Oriental College, and Prof Potsangbam Kumar Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor of MIU, at Oriental College, Takyelpat, in the presence of senior officials from both institutions.
As per a release issued by Oriental College, the historic partnership establishes a framework for comprehensive academic collaboration, research initiatives, and mutual institutional support.
Under the agreement the two institutions will engage in joint research projects, technology and knowledge sharing, and exchange of academic resources to enhance educational outcomes.
MIU will extend preferential recruitment and internship opportunities to students of Oriental College, while also facilitating international tie-ups with reputed global universities and organizations.
A key focus of the collaboration includes facilitating student and faculty exchange programs to promote cross-cultural learning and academic enrichment.
Both institutions will jointly organize workshops, seminars, and conferences, as well as skill development programs aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and research excellence.
Additionally, they will explore opportunities for shared infrastructure and joint academic initiatives to further strengthen Manipur's higher education ecosystem.
After the formal signing of the MOA, Dr Soraisam Ranjit Singh said, "This partnership signifies our shared vision for academic innovation and excellence.
Through this collaboration, we aim to provide our students and faculty with unparalleled opportunities for growth and academic engagement".
Prof Potsangbam Kumar remarked, "This MOA underscores our commitment to advancing higher education in Manipur.
Together, we hope to create a dynamic academic environment that bridges local and international learning experiences" .
The agreement, which comes into effect immediately, is designed as a long-term partnership with provisions for mutual review and expansion.
