Imphal, November 25 2025:
The Border Security Force (BSF), established on December 1, 1965, is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee with a series of nationwide events highlighting its commitment to national security and community engagement.
As part of these celebrations, SHQ BSF CI(Ops) Manipur and Adhoc Sector BSF Manipur and their under command units in Manipur organised painting competitions, motivational film screenings, and weapon exhibitions to inspire students and strengthen BSF-community ties.
Today, painting competitions on the theme "Nation First" were conducted at several educational institutions across Manipur.
More than 350 students collectively participated across locations, displaying high enthusiasm and creativity.
Teachers, village representatives, and school authorities actively attended and supported the events.
Prizes were awarded to the top performers at each venue, and many centres also distributed consolation gifts to encourage participation.
Additionally, several units organised motivational film screenings on BSF training, duties, skydiving capabilities, and the achievements of BSF's canine teams.
Students were also briefed on the gallantry of Shaheed Constable Deepak Chingakham of 7 Battalion BSF, who was awarded the Vir Chakra (Posthumously) for his supreme sacrifice during Operation Sindoor in 2025.His act of valour and the subsequent appointment of his younger brother as ASI in Manipur Police were highlighted to inspire the youth.
Weapon exhibitions were held at various schools, allowing students to observe BSF equipment first-hand and interact with BSF Personnel.
Many students raised queries regarding weapons, operational responsibilities, and career opportuni-ties in CAPFs, which were duly addressed by BSF personnel.
The events also saw participation from local leaders, youth clubs, teachers, and villagers, reflecting strong community cooperation.
Across all venues, BSF Officers, SOs, and ORs ensured smooth conduct of the programmes.
Officials including School Principals, and staff members remained present throughout the events, contributing to disciplined and meaningful celebrations.
The activities collectively fostered national pride, awareness about border security, and a deeper understanding of BSF's role among young students in Manipur.
