BJP celebrates by-poll victory

Imphal, November 24 2015: BJP Manipur Pradesh today celebrated the party's victory in the by-election to Thangmeiband AC and Thongju AC and Khumukcham Joykishan was accorded a hero's welcome at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek.

Speaking at the gathering, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba claimed that people of Thangmeiband and Thongju have clearly demonstrated people's abomination for Congress party's money and muscle power.

Conveying gratitude to the people of Thongju AC and Thangmeiband AC for electing the BJP candidates with huge margins, Chaoba called upon them to uproot Congress party from the soil of Manipur.

He then appealed to the electorate of Manipur to elect not less than 40 BJP MLAs in the State Assembly election of 2017 .

Ex-MLA O Joy who joined BJP recently said that the by-election saw pitched battles between people's aspirations on one hand and money and muscle power on the other.

BJP's victory implies people's hatred for Congress party's money and muscle power.

Hailing that Thangmeiband and Thongju have become pioneers for a new Manipur, Joy remarked that the by-election results have indicated Congress party's defeat in the 2017 Assembly election.

He also called upon the masses to throw out the corrupted Congress Government.

Joykishan said that it was a stroke of good luck that he was disqualified from Manipur Legislative Assembly when he was trying to join BJP.

He also thanked gratitude to the Speaker for the disqualification verdict.

"It was because of love and cooperation given by the people of Thangmeiband AC that I am able to retain the Assembly seat.

I would discharge my duties and responsibilities as a people's representative to my fullest capacity", Joykishan said.

Despite enjoying overwhelming majority of 48 MLAs, Congress party could not defeat two BJP candidates.

How would they fare when all the 60 Assembly seats go to poll is anyone's guess, he said.

He also called upon all the people to start due preparations for installing a BJP Government in the State in order to safeguard the integrity of Manipur.

Earlier, Th Bishwajit welcomed people's mandate.

People of Thongju AC have made it clear that they could not be swayed by money nor intimidated by muscle power.

He too pledged that he would work as an opposition member with full dedication.

He further promised that all the roads of Thongju AC would be black topped by March 2016 .

Thongju AC would be developed as a model Assembly segment, he added.

BJP general secretary (administration) M Ashnikumar remarked that today is a day of celebration for vanquishing Congress party.
