Imphal, August 22 2026:
In a big boost for the State's mission organic, a farmer producer company (FPC) has initiated a weekly supply of 500 to 1000 kilograms of Kew pineapples to Rajasthan.
The first batch of 500 kilograms of Kew pineapples, grown in Thayong village, was flagged off by Mangal Organic (FPC) at the Sanjenthong office of the Directorate of Horticulture and Soil Conservation today.
The pineapples will be airlifted to reach M/S Nand Kishore Chaudhary HUF in Mansarovar, Rajasthan, said Mangal Organic FPC Limited's chairman Laikhuram Sarmal.
Mangal Organic is a farmer producer company located in Imphal-East registered under Phase-IV of the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) .
Sarmal said the company has 500 registered farmers with pineapple as their main crop.
While the company has airlifted pineapples to Delhi and other States, this is the first time it is exporting the crop to Rajasthan, he said.
Under the Market Intervention initiative, Mangal Organic will airlift 500-1000 Kg of pineapples weekly to M/s Nand Kishore Chaudhary HUF, Mansarovar, Jaipur, he said.
The FPC facilitates the aggregation, quality grading, packaging and airlifting of high-demand organic Kew pineapples from local farms to markets outside the State.
This initiative aims to strengthen and encourage organic pineapple farmers, he added.
Assistance provided by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) under the scheme "Market Intervention for Horticultural Products" has enabled the Mangal Organic to market locally produced quality organic products outside the State, he said.
