Akharas, Kalagram and UP Darshan Mandapam take centre stage in Mahakumbh

Reflecting Uttar Pradesh and Central Governments' effort to make Mahakumbh 2025 memorable, Akharas, Kalagram and Uttar Pradesh Darshan Mandapam continued to take centrestage captivating many devotees and visitors alike.
The North East media team who are on a three-day PIB sponsored tour to Prayagraj had this morning the privilege to visit the akharas in Sector 20 of Prayagraj which is housing thousands of spiritual leaders from different Hindu religious sects, sadhus and yogis.
Amidst the sounds of sermons and devotional songs, the media team had the opportunities to interact with the sadhus, devotees and visitors who are also making most of their time in the city.
Speaking to this reporter, a devotee from Bangalore who was strolling after taking a holy dip in the Ganga River expressed happiness at being able to attend the largest festival of Hindus.
He also spoke well of the preparation and security arrangement made in view of the Mahakumbh.
The media team also witnessed many devotees taking holy dip in Ganga River.
Following the visit, the team were taken to Kalagram where the Ministry of Culture, Government of India left no stone unturned to promote the idea of oneness through culture, art and food.
Upon the team's arrival, a representative of the Ministry of Culture Amrish Trivedi received the team and brief about the elaborate arrangements made at Kalagram where food stalls from across the country were present to serve the visitors.
Amrish also led the team to experience 360 degree mesmerizing visuals showing the sacred descent of the celestial Ganga from heaven to earth at a zone titled "immersive zone".
He then showed the media persons the path to North East Zone Cultural Centre where stalls of handloom and handicraft products were on sale.
This reporter also met Dovi Vashum from Ukhrul who was representing Manipur and vending hand woven clothes at the zonal cultural centre.
The team then visited Uttar Pradesh Darshan Mandapam specially set up by Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation to highlight UPs religious tourism map through circuits depicting maps of places related epics like Mahabharat, Ramayan and other faiths including Islam, Jainism, and independence movement.
An official received the team also guided on the circuits present inside the Mandapam area.
He also presented handbook on UP Tourism to the visiting team.
