Imphal, March 21 2025: Protesting the deplorable condition of NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam highway) and the authority's failure to repair it, womenfolk blocked the highway at Langjing Achouba today.

A large number of womenfolk came out and blocked the normal traffic movement since early morning by sitting in the middle of the highway and by placing big objects across the road.

Speaking to media persons, one of the womenfolk stated that they have been appealing to the authorities concerned repeatedly to blacktop the highway section but the authorities have not been paying any attention.

The dust pollution from the damaged road has led to health issues for local residents, she said and appealed to the authority concerned to repair the road at the earliest.
