AMADA conducts training for women

A three fours' training programme "Imparting Education on Drug Abuse, Women & Child Trafficking and Its Related Crime" was inaugurated on Saturday by the Kakching A/C MLA Y Surchandra Singh as chief guest at Kshetri Shanglen Thoubal.
The programme was organised by All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA) in coordination with Rural Development Panchayati Raj, Government of Manipur.
During the function, Khangabok A/C MLA Okram Landhini Devi, former chairperson of the Manipur State Commission for Women Dr Ch Jamini Devi attended as president and guest of honour respectively.
While giving the keynote address of the training programme, the Secretary of AMADA K Meghachandra Meetei expressed that the first of such training programme was conducted at Imphal west district and this is the second one.
He further added such similar training will also be organised for Imphal east and Bishnupur district as well soon.
In the technical session, Dr Ch Jamini Devi lectured on Women Empowerment and Gender Budgeting.
Drug & Crime in Manipur by Director of Prosecution on second day, Drug & HIV/AIDS by Psychiatrist of Bishnupur district hospital Dr H Angomcha on third day and Women & Child Trafficking by K Saroja Devi of Social Welfare Department on fourth are the main topics of the training programme.
