Imphal, April 19 2025:
The outlawed KCP has imposed a permanent ban on stay in or entry of one Ranjeet Kumar Gupta into Kangleipak for allegedly acting against the interest of the people of Kangleipak and also promoting and indulging in immoral activities.
A press release issued by the outfit's Information and Public Relations secretary M Punsiba Meitei said that despite the non-negotiable permanent ban on trade and consumption of harmful smokeless tobacco products such as Talab, Shikhar and Bombay Pan Masala in Kangleipak with effect from March 25, 2025 which was communicated to the general public and all concerned through print and electronic media, Ranjeet Kumar Gupta continues to supply the banned products wholesale.
Ranjeet Kumar Gupta who hails from Bihar has also been running a restaurant named Kadak Chai at Mantripukhri, Imphal.
This is the very restaurant which was once stormed by Meira Paibi in 2023 for suspected immoral activities.
Investigation into this restaurant has shown that his restaurant doubles up as some sort of night club and gambling den for people close to him, the outfit said.
The outfit said that it has decided to impose a permanent ban on his stay in or entry into Kangleipak and also on all his business and other interests in Kangleipak, including the controversial Kadak Chai restaurant at Mantripukhri, with immediate effect.
