Free Eye Screening, Mega Health Camps conducted

A Free Mega Health Camp was successfully conducted today at Yurembam Girls Primary School, Yurembam Makha Leikai under the supervision of Dr Yaikhomba Taorem, Chief Pediatrician, Angel Children Hospital.
The mega health camp was jointly organised by Huidon Pokpi Tarang Apaanba Development Club (HTPDC), Yurembam Youth Welfare Association (YYWA), Yurembam Apunba Chaokhat Lup (YACHAL), Punna Hingminashi VLF and Iramdam Athoibi VLF Yurembam.
Around 2000 individuals were examined for various health care concerns during the camp by a team of 30 specialist and super specialist doctors.
Free medical testing facilities like ultrasound, ECG, sugar test, haemoglobin, uric acid test, HBA1c, lipid profile test, fibroscan, diabetes neuropathy screening, etc were provided during the camp and free medicines were distributed.
At the event, Dr Yaikhomba said that mega health camp was organised to provide essential healthcare service to the people who have been affected by the ongoing.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and appealed to the people to go for regular medical checkups.
"Regular medical checkups are important because they can help detect health problems early, which can lead to better treatment outcomes and lower healthcare costs", said Dr Yaikhomba.
RIMS
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, also organised a Swachhta Health Camp under the Swachhta Action Plan 2024-25 at Kumbi Relief Camp in Bishnupur district today.
The health camp was conducted in collaboration with Gam Vikash, Manipur.
During the camp, a team of experts from various departments of RIMS including Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Medicine and Eye Care provided free health examinations and consultations to about 200 individuals.
Those in need were also provided with free medications, ensuring access to essential treatments.
According to a release issued by RIMS, the health camp provided much-needed medical assistance, health screenings, and raised awareness about hygiene and sanitation, which are essential in displacement settings, where access to regular health care services is often limited.
The participants expressed their gratitude to RIMS for providing necessary medical support and guidance.
AMUCO
Leading up to its 32nd foundation on February 12, the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) organised a free eye camp cum distribution of spectacles at Nongpok Sanjenbam Khunou in Imphal East district today.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with Yaima Eye Hospital, Khagempalli Pankha Huidrom Leikai and Sanjenbam Khunou Development Club (SKDC) .
The event was attended by Yaima Eye Hospital, Optometrists N Anjali and Priya; Camp coordinator, L Rishikanta; AMUCO vice president K Helen, secretary organisation Laishram Krishnachandra, assistant secretary organisation Y Inaocha and executive member M Premjit among others.
Altogether, 180 people were treated at the camp and free spectacles were distributed to those who needed it.
