ADC schools emerge champions of Independence Day parade at Ukhrul

Ukhrul, August 18 2024: Autonomous District Council schools of Ukhrul snatched the top three prizes of the 78th Independence Day parade competition held at Bakshi ground, Hungpung Ukhrul.

The Khayang Village Upper Primary School bagged the first prize while Pharung Primary School and Halang Wunglung Tang Primary School won the prizes for the second and third position respectively.

Altogether 24 contingents competed in the Independence Day parade competition.

It may be mentioned that the Khayang village is located at the extreme eastern border of Ukhrul district and is more than 100 Km from the District Headquarters.

The teacher in charge of Khayang village expressed his contentment on the school contingent winning the first prize of the march past competition.

It was the first time Khayang Upper Primary School participated in the district level march past competition held at the District Headquarters.

The school emerging the best and winning the first prize is a proud moment for the rural school under the ADC, said the teacher.

The school's success has proved that rural schools can also perform like other schools of the district, added the teacher.

He said the school conducts regular drill classes for the students.

CEO of ADC Ukhrul, David Kashungnao extended congratulations to all the schools for participating and winning prizes in the Independence Day parade competition.
