Streamline NFSA rice distribution: Wangjing-Tentha residents

The hailstorm affected residents of Wangjing-Tentha Assembly Constituency have sought the attention of Chief Minister N Biren Singh to distribute the pending NFSA rice amid these challenging times.
It may be noted that Wangjing-Tentha AC is among the worstly affected regions by the May 5 hailstorm which wreaked havoc in the State.
With regards to the pending quota of NFSA rice, a press meet was held yesterday by the representatives of different local clubs, organizations and meira paibis of Wangjing Tentha AC.
Addressing media persons, Ngangom Surjit of Wangjing Wangkhei highlighted that the hailstorm caused wide-scale destruction at Wangjing-Tentha AC with more than 10, 000 houses damaged.
Maintaining that the people have been bearing the brunt of the ethnic conflict since May last year, Surjit expressed that the recent hailstorm have added more woes to the already suffering residents of this region.
He informed that the residents of Wangjing-Tentha have not received NFSA rice since April causing immense inconvenience.
In view of the plights of these affected, he urged the Chief Minister to take up immediate measures to ensure the release of pending NFSA rice at the earliest.
Further he appealed to the Government to expedite measures to provide relief materials to the hailstorm affected people as announced.
A woman from Wangjing Wangkhei who had suffered great loss due to the storm also urged the Chief Minister to look into the matter and release the NFSA rice at the earliest.
