1st Tampi village combined VBS held

In a first of its kind, the 1st Tampi village "Vacation Bible School (VBS), was held today with the involvement of all four Christian denominations of the village namely, Baptist, World Mission Envengical (WME), United Pentecostal Church (UPC) and Apostolic Church.
Held from June 12-15, 2025 at the village in Chakpikarong sub-division under Chandel district, it was organised by the Tampi Youth Club under the theme "Krishta Jesu Kung Akhe Bah Pahinti" (Galatia 3:28), meaning "...for you are all one in Jesus Christ" .
The uniqueness about the VBS was that, despite the differences in doctrines, the four Christian denominations came together under one roof, as one, to teach their children and the youths of the village about Jesus Christ.
With Sr Warthung, president of Tampi Youth Club as director and Hb Khihmanhring as finance secretary, the VBS teaching staff included Rl George, St Shutha, Sr Aphia, Ps Margret, Wng Kevi, Ch Shangkhel, Bs Ningtha, Wng Shiny, St Shangrina and Dy Joyni.
The non-teaching staff include, Js Euodia, Hl Moreng and Dy Goldenson.
During the closing ceremony on Sunday, which was also observed as Father's Day, best student awards were also handed out to Lh Mohmanwar and Rd Khijoyhring for senior, Lk Niwari and Ps Phowlphahrin for junior, St Kahliingnawar and Hl Hrintha for sub-junior and Wng Chavangam and Hb Feya for beginners.
Speaking at the event, Pastor St Behring, president TVL exhorted the students and encouraged them tc always follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Sr Warthung McCoy, director of the VBS, thanked all the 116 students and youths from the various churches for their participation in the VBS.
He also thanked all the parents, guardians, Church leaders, village leaders and well wishers for the support.
