Kakching, June 17 2024:
Stating that the construction of Kakching to Tekcham (via Irengband) road has been sanctioned, Kakching Assembly Constituency MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar has assured that tenders will be floated soon for its rapid construction.
He made the statement during the inauguration of white topped Kakching Sumak Leikai Keithel Pareng Road and Wairi Punshi Pareng Road today.
These road stretches were constructed as part of the ongoing initiative undertaken by the Kakching MLA to upgrade roads in his constituency by constructing them with paver block technology under the special assistance to states for capital investment (SACI) scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar shared that as the Kakching to Tekcham (via Irengband) road stretch comes under RDD of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), he was not able to speed up their construction using the Local Area Development Fund.
Maintaining that he had spoken with the concerned Minister yesterday, he assured that the necessary tenders will be floated soon and construction will commence shortly.
Further, he invited the public to offer their observations about the roads that have been constructed so far.
The Kakching MLA added that he had provided the same assurance to owners of two schools along the Kakching to Tekcham (via Irengband) road as well as residents and local club representatives a few days ago.
Despite such assurances, the assertions of launching protests and blocking the road is quite unfortunate, he maintained.
Calling for the public's cooperation and understanding, he stated that renovating a road that has not been repaired for the last 15 years will pose its own set of challenges and take some time.
With the people's continued support, he assured to keep working on the renovation of roads, water supply, health care, education and general welfare of the people of Kakching Assembly Constituency.
