Imphal, August 16 2024: The United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) has accused RIMS Director G Sunil Kumar Sharma of abusing his position to earn easy money by colluding with some officials.

In a statement signed by its assistant publicity secretary Nongdamba Meitei, UPPK claimed that the image of RIMS which the Government has been working to upgrade to the status of AIIMS will be tarnished if the corrupt activities are overlooked.

Further claiming that they have got evidence of the RIMS Director and his wife, Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) Sairem Sarat Singh and some other officials engaging in fraudulent and corrupt activities, the outfit alleged that the RIMS Director and his family charge Rs 15-50 lakh for nurse and MTS jobs.

It further claimed that Sairem Sarat who never completed B.Com and M.Com was appointed as CAO of RIMS.

The CAO handed over project works of RIMS to people familiar with him apart from giving a work contract to his brother.

Claiming that the RIMS Director also charges 5 to 10 per cent from a contractor for every project, UPPK urged the RIMS Director and CAO to make public all the wrongs they had done in recruiting staff and other works related to RIMS.
