Three-day training programme commences

The inaugural ceremony of the three-day training programme on "Natural Farming for State-District Officials" was held today at the conference hall of College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, CAU, Imphal.
Professor Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction and Dean, Professor L Nabachandra Singh, Department of Agronomy and Professor Angad Prasad attended the event as presidium members.
At the event, Director of Instruction, Professor Indira Sarangthem underscored the significance of advancing natural farming to preserve biodiversity, ensure food security and enhance farmers' livelihood by boosting their economic condition.
Additionally, she emphasized the responsibility of the officials attending the programme and said that they play a crucial role in advocating for and spreading awareness about natural farming among the farmers of their State.
Professor Nabachandra and Professor Angad Prasad talked about the importance of practicing farming in tandem with the laws of nature.
They also briefed the gathering about the advantages of natural farming.
The three days training programme is being organised by College of Agriculture, Iroisemba under the National Mission on Natural Farming.
Altogether, 37 State officials which includes Sub Divisional Agricultural Officers, Agriculture Officers, Agriculture Inspectors and Agri Field Assistants from Nagaland are taking part in the training programme which is
set conclude on April 17 .
