ABVP State conference kicks off

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Manipur has kicked off its 10th State Conference at the College of Agriculture, Iroishemba today.
Manipur University Vice Chancellor Professor N Lo-kendra inaugurated the 3-day conference.
Speaking at the event, the VC lauded the ideology of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyar-thi Parishad and said it is a strong student body that is contributing to Nation building.
In Manipur, the ABVP is gaining its strength, he added.
ABVP Manipur State president Professor Premlata Maisnam said the student organisation is the biggest in India.
The State conference is being organised to discuss education reform policies and find solutions to issues facing students in Manipur, she added.
ABVP Manipur State secretary Goutam Philem explained that the State conference aims to bring unity among students and instill in them the idea of Nationalism for a strong India.
The ABVP has taken up many initiatives and programmes aimed at bringing welfare for students and society and instilling in them a sense of patriotism, he said.
ABVP will strive for restoration of peace in Manipur, he added.
Former ABVP National president Milind Marathe, Thangjam Agro Private Ltd Managing Director Thangjam Joykumar, MU College Development Council Director Professor H Sukhdev Sharma and ABVP Imphal West Zilla Pramukh Dr H Sharatchandra Singh attended the inauguration function, among others.
A photo exhibition was also organised as a part of the event.
RSS Manipur Prant Sanghchalak Dr Th Naranbabu and COA Dean Professor Indira Sarangthem too attended the event.
