Historic Eucharistic Procession draws over 10,000 faithfuls in Senapati

In a powerful expression of faith, unity and hope, a historic Eucharistic Procession organised by the Senapati District Catholic Union (SDCU) in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Imphal drew the participation of over 10,000 faithful at Senapati district headquarters.
The grand spiritual event witnessed the presence of more than 50 priests and 80 nuns from different parts of Manipur.
The solemn programme was presided over by Most Rev Linus Neli DD, Archbishop of Imphal, who served as the chief celebrant.
The programme commenced with the reverent celebration of the Holy Eucharist, followed by a grand Eucharistic Procession that filled the town with prayer, devotion and spiritual fervour.
The event concluded with a deeply moving Eucharistic Adoration led by Fr Dinny Paul VC, Director of Divine Glory Prayer Tower, Maram Khunou, Senapati.
In his homily, Archbishop Linus Neli offered a heartfelt prayer for Manipur and its people, emphasising peace, reconciliation and unity amid the prevailing challenges faced by the state.
He prayed for peaceful coexistence, development, environmental protection and lasting political solutions, expressing hope that Manipur would emerge as a centre of peace.
The occasion gained national significance with the presence of Rev Fr Dr Gilbert De Lima, representative of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) .
His participation underscored the solidarity of the Catholic Church in India with the people of Manipur during this critical period.
The Eucharistic Procession stood as a strong public witness of faith and a collective appeal for peace, healing and harmony.
The disciplined participation of clergy, religious and lay faithful reflected the deep-rooted spiritual heritage of the Catholic community in the region.
Faithful from various parishes and communities described the event as historic not only in scale but also in its profound spiritual impact, stating that it renewed hope and strengthened their resolve to work towards unity and peace in Manipur.
The SDCU and the Archdiocese of Imphal expressed gratitude to all clergy, religious, volunteers, civil authorities and faithful who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme, terming it a milestone in the spiritual journey of the Church in Manipur.
