State lad presents research at International Psychology Conference, Kathmandu

Imphal, August 13 2026: Manipur scholar Moirangthem Netalion presented his research on cultural identity and intercultural relations at the International Conference on Applied Psychology 2026 held at National College, Kathmandu, Nepal, from August 6 to 8, 2026 .

Netalion presented a paper titled "Cultural Identity and Adaptation: Mutual Intercultural Relations of Kuki/Kuki-Zo and Meitei Communities in Manipur" .

The conference, themed "Behavioural Science Advancement: A Multidisciplinary and Cross-Cultural Perspective", gathered academics, researchers and practitioners from across the world.

His study examined the psychological and social dimensions of identity, adaptation and relations between the two communities, situating Manipur's experiences within a broader cross-cultural framework.

This follows his participation at the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP) 2026 at KU Leuven, Belgium, from July 14 to 18, where he presented "Rethinking Integration: Identity, Acculturation, and Adaptation in Ethnic Conflict among the Meitei and Kuki-Zo Communities in Manipur" .

The research was supervised by Dr Shabana Bano and Dr Chiinngaikhim Guite at Banaras Hindu University, where Netalion recently completed his post-graduation.

The son of folk lyricist Moirangthem Indrajit Moirang and Khurajam Sundari Leima, Netalion hails from Ithing Sendra Chingkhong, and now resides at Uripok Sorbon Thingel, Imphal West.
