Governor urged to address pending projects in Noney

Imphal, June 13 2025:
A seven-member delegation of the Noney (Longmai) Joint Leadership led by Noney village chief (khunbu) Gonmei Keineshong met Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan, here, on Thursday.
According to statement issued by Pei Customary Court, Noney, in the meeting, 15 charter of demands submitted earlier were minutely discussed.
The Governor paid a patient hearing and assured the delegation that the government is committed to take up all possible measures to fulfil the genuine demands at the earliest.
The meeting was held in a cordial manner and various issues pertaining to the memorandum submitted on May 3, 2025, said the Pei statement.
Further, the delegation appealed to the Governor to visit Noney district headquarters at the earliest to take up all pending developmental projects and complete the ongoing projects.
The Governor also requested the delegation to reconsider its proposed agitation including the 'chaka bandh' on NH 37 and the move to ban national projects from June 20, the statement conveyed, adding that the delegation expressed their gratitude to the Governor for understanding the sentiment of the people of Noney district.
