CWAF celebrates foundation day

Imphal, January 13 2025: The Cultural Workers and Activists Forum Manipur (CWAF) celebrated its 7th Foundation Day at the auditorium of Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, Langthabal on Monday.

It was graced by Imphal Theatre director, L Dorendro; CWAF Manipur president, Buddha Chingtham and Kanglei Mine Theatre Repertory director, Dr Y Sadananda as presidium members.

As part of the observance, a discourse on the present status of Manipur culture was conducted.

RK Sanatomba, general secretary of CWAF, delivered the keynote address highlighting the background and objectives of the forum.

The gathering expressed concern over the present status of arts and culture in the State.

They also expressed the need to carry on artistic activities in the State despite the prevailing situation in Manipur.

PANDM

In connection with its 15th Foundation Day celebration, the Peoples' Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM) on Monday provided humanitarian assistance to the internally displaced people staying at the relief camps opened in Mekola Gupal Hr Sec School, Heinoubok and Leimaram High School.

The relief materials were handed over by a team led by PANDM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar.

He was accompanied by Irengbam Shyamo (vice president), Brojen Soraisham (secretary general), Niladhwaj Chingsubam (secretary), Yengkhom Krishnadas (secretary), Konjengbam Achouba (secretary office affairs) and other members of PANDM.

AMMA

All Manipur Music Association (AMMA) also celebrated its 40th Foundation Day at The Art & Cultural Centre in Yaiskul on Sunday.

It was attended by AMMA president Y Suren, vice president Th Mangi, ex-secretary Ksh Akshaykumar and Manibabu Likmabam, retired Director of DDK Imphal as presidium members.

Offering of floral tributes to the deceased members of AMMA, presentation of religious and patriotic songs were the main highlight of the event.

PICOC

The 1st Foundation Day of the Peace & Integrity Co-ordinating Committee (PICOC) was celebrated at Phabakchao Keithel on Sunday.

The event was graced by dignitaries including Imphal West Zilla Parishad, Chairperson, Laishram Boby Devi; PICOC president, MD Usman Gani Baei; Kakching District Zilla Parishad, Chairperson, Elangbam Surendo Singh; social workers Dr Elangbam Amikumar Singh and Kongkham Manglem Singh.
