Imphal, November 10: After having resolved the stand off between the chemists and the anti-drug campaigners, JN Hospital Pharmacists Association has asked all the chemist shops located around the hospital to possess all the necessary documents within November 20.The Association has also announced its decision of extending full support to the ongoing anti-drug abuse drive being spearheaded by AMADA.

Talking to mediaper-sons today, Association president Th Imocha and secretary Irom Sunder highlighted the problems being faced by the pharmacists as well as the difficulties being faced by the patients while coming for treatment at JN Hospital.

Sunder informed that on October 17 last, All Manipur Anti drug Association (AMADA), Manipur Chemist and Druggist Association and Un-employment Pharmacist Association jointly launched a drive at the chemist shops located around the JN Hospital, Porompat to find out whether they have the required documents to run such shops.

As the drive was launched all of a sudden, there was some misunderstanding between the pharmacists and anti-drug campaigners, thereby resulting in the stand off.

However, the matter has been resolved during a joint meeting of the two parties held at the head office of AMADA yesterday, Sunder informed while appealing to all the pharmacists concerned to be in possession of all the required documents within November 20.Talking about the Association, Imocha said the Association was formed in September this year and has been since playing an active role in keeping the complex of JN Hospital neat and clean by organising social service camps apart from looking after the needs the patients as well as of the hospital.

Expressing serious concerned over the lack of adequate manpower to run the Hospital, Ibomcha disclosed that routine operation at the hospital has not been performed for quite sometime due to lack of adequate manpower including doctors.

Moreover, no more cases of delivery has been admitted as at the hospital apart from the fact that the city scan and X-ray machines have been out of order.

Lack of adequate water is another problem being faced by the patients at the hospital and all the toilets have been filled up, he said, while drawing the attention of the authorities concerned for taking up necessary measures in this connection.

SP seized: Personnel of Imphal West District Narcotic Cell have arrested one person along with 1440 capsules of SP tablets.

The arrested person has been identified as Md Abu alias Ibo Khan (19) s/o Md Abdul Haque of Lilong Tairenkhok Kaleikhong Makok.
