Governor, CM, Speaker convey greetings

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Y Khemchand and Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata have greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba.
The Governor, in his message, said that Mera Chaoren Houba is an important religious and cultural festival of Manipur, dedicated to Lainingthou Sanamahi and Leimarel Sidabi.
Observed on the first lunar day of Mera in the Meitei calendar, the festival reflects the rich spiritual and cultural traditions of the people of the State.
Bhalla continued that over the ages, the festival has also come to symbolise prosperity, unity, integrity and peaceful coexistence among different ethnic communities of Manipur.
"May the spirit of Mera Chaoren Houba inspire us to work together for lasting peace, harmony and prosperity in Manipur", he prayed.
The Chief Minister, in his message, appealed to the people to renew their commitment to preserving 'our rich cultural traditions' and strengthening the bonds of mutual respect, understanding and harmony among all communities.
"May this sacred observance bring peace, prosperity and well-being to the people of Manipur and inspire us to work together towards building a harmonious and prosperous State." he prayed.
Th Satyabrata, in his greetings, prayed for peace and prosperity.
