Ukhrul Forest Division to observe Wildlife Week 2025

Ukhrul, September 10 2025: The Divisional Forest Officer, Ukhrul, has notified to the general public that the Ukhrul Forest Division will observed Wildlife Week2025 from October 2-8, 2025 under the theme "Human-Animal Coexistence" .

A series of events will be held to mark the occasion, including essay, painting, quiz, and photography competitions.

As per a release issued by the Divisional Forest Officer, Ukhrul, the Essay and Painting competition will take place on September 19, 2025, at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, Wino, Ukhrul.

The competitions will be held in two categories - Category I (Class V to VIII) & Category II (Class IX to XII).

Winners will receive cash prizes of Rs 2000, Rs 1500 and Rs 1000 for the first, second and third positions respectively.

The Wildlife Quiz Competition is scheduled for October 3, while the photography competition will be based on the theme" Wild Mammals of Manipur in their Natural Habitat".

Entries for the photography contest must be submitted to the DFO, Ukhrul Forest Division on or before September 15, 2025.In addition, the notification invited nominations for the State Level Wildlife Protection Incentive Awards from individuals.

Civil Societies/NGOs.

Clubs, Gram Panchayats, JFMC's, Govt officials, security personnel from Police and paramilitary forces, media, etc, under Ukhrul Forest Division jurisdiction.

Nomination forms are available on the Department's website forest.manipurforest.gov.in or can be collected from the nearest forest office.

Completed forms must reach the DFO Ukhrul on or before September 15, 2025 .
