DC Jiribam inaugurates Anganwadi centres in Jiribam

Jiribam, July 09 2025:
The Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, today inaugurated newly constructed Anganwadi centres at Latingkhal Part-I and Latingkhal Part-II under Borobekra CD Block, Jiribam.
These centres have been constructed under MGNREGS under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project.
Speaking on the inaugural programme, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of girl child education, emphasizing the need for special focus on the overall education of girls and emotional support to the girl from the mother.
He urged the community to actively monitor incidents of child marriage and report them to the concerned authorities for timely intervention.
Krishna Kumar also stressed the importance of regular health check-ups for pregnant women and lactating mothers, as well as the provision of supplementary nutritious foods for children under the age of 6.He encouraged the villagers to avail themselves of free healthcare services at the Jiribam District Hospital and to utilize the ambulance service provided by the hospital in case of emergencies.
He further called upon the villagers to take responsibility for the development of their community and nation.
He emphasized that collective efforts and active participation would be crucial in driving progress and improving the lives of the people.
The inauguration of the Anganwadi centres will benefit hundreds of children, pregnant women and lactating mothers in the area, providing them with access to essential services and support.
With the opening of these centres, Jiribam district takes a significant step towards achieving its goals of improving child and maternal health, promoting education, and empowering communities.
The programme was attended by ZP Borobekra Samuel Bose, BDO Borobekra RK.
Sailash Singh, Pradhan and members of ZP Borobekra, officials from the district administration, ICDS workers, ASHA workers and local community leaders.
