Imphal, May 08 2024:
The eGov Foundation and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) hosted a high tea programme to commemorate the two years of 10BedICU Project providing access to critical care services across the State.
The programme was graced by esteemed dignitaries including the Director of JNIMS, Additional Director of the Department of Health Services (DHS) Manipur, Dean of JNIMS, Medical Superintendent of JNIMS, Heads of Departments from various specialties, dedicated teams of doctors and nurses from JNIMS, and representatives from the eGov Foundation.
The 10BedICU Project has made a significant impact on healthcare delivery in Manipur.
By establishing 10BedICU units across district hospitals and deploying cutting-edge TeleICU technology, the project has bridged the gap in specialist availability to a great extent.
This innovative system facilitates real-time consultations between doctors at district hospitals and senior specialists at the central TeleICU Hub in JNIMS.
With access to visual aids and patient data, specialists can remotely guide and support critical care decisions at the district level.
Since its inception, the project has substantially improved healthcare outcomes.
Over 3,300 patients have received critical care within their own district hospitals, eliminating the burden of patients and the family in referral to Imphal for critical care and ensuring timely access to vital interventions.
The TelelCU technology has empowered district hospitals to provide a higher standard of care, maximizing the utilization of limited specialist resources.
Additionally, the project has streamlined the referral process, ensuring efficient allocation of ICU beds at the central hub, JNIMS.
This two-year milestone signifies a significant achievement in advancing healthcare accessibility and quality across Manipur.
The Directorate of Health Services Manipur, JNIMS and eGov Foundation are steadfast in their commitment to continuously improve and strengthen the project to ensure the well-being of the people in need in the State.
