Projects worth crores taken up in hills: CM

Imphal, August 07 2024: With the coming of the present Government, the Minority and Other Backward Classes Department has been able to undertake many projects worth crores in the hills, valley as well as SC/ST/OBC areas, said Chief Minister N Biren Singh in the Assembly.

During a discussion at today's Assembly session to pass the demands of MOBC and SC Department, the Leader of the House added that the Department has been able to build residential schools in four/five districts as well as Sadbhavna Mandaps and has the potential to change the landscape of the region.

It has provided various types of training to roughly 1300 people under the economic and skill development program including relief camp inmates.

Women are provided 30% reservation in such training programs.

A small sum is also provided to the participants to encourage them to start their own projects/businesses, informed the Chief Minister.
