Khongchat: A chronicle of Khangabok's legacy launched

The inaugural issue of Journal Khongchat: The Khangabok Diary, a bilingual annual publication, was officially launched today at Bh Manithoi Mandop, Khangabok Pt III, Makha Leikai.
The launching event was attended by Laishram Jatra Singh, former Minister, Industries & Commerce, Govt of Manipur as chief guest, Laishram Subha Singh, Founder and Principal of Wisdom Foundation, Khangabok as president, Moirangthem Lokendro Singh, Asst Librarian, Manipur University and Dr Laishram Somenkumar Singh, proprietor of SUR Hospital Khangabok as guests of honour and Laishram Tomba Khuman, retd Police Inspector, Manipur as special guest.
The programme commenced with a welcome and keynote address by Dr Moirangthem Boby Singh, a member of the editorial board.
Editor of the journal, Dr Laishram Lenin Singh (Lenin Khumancha), outlined the journal's vision to document the achievements and voices of Khangabok across generations and professions.
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of Laishram Jatra Singh for his academic achievement as the first from Khangabok village to secure position in the Matriculation Exam, 1964, along with the first four PhD holders from the village, Dr Laishram Ibungohal, Dr Laishram Bokul Singh, Prof Khundrakpam Jugindro Singh and Dr Khundrakpam Akoisana Singh.
Their contributions were celebrated as milestones in the academic narratives of Khangabok.
