Senapati, July 06 2024:
The Senapati-Phaibung (SP) Road Committee resolved to file a case against the Manipur Government and the implement agency (25 BRTF) for total negligence of the road construction work which covers 18 villages (128km) and for delaying the release of 10 percent State share for the past 22 years.
The above resolution was taken during an emergency meeting of the SP Road Committee held on May 21, 2024 at TNK Senapati village after the joint inspection of the SP road with the 84 RCC, PWD Senapati Zone and respective village authorities.
In the meeting the members had detailed discussion about the dilapidated condition of the said road.
Furthermore, the bridge between Tingsong Centre and Tingsong Khullen collapsed and the road is not motorable with many landslides in different locations due to heavy rainfall.
It may be noted that Senapati-Phaibung road which begin from NH-2 at TNK Senapati village is the only road that connects southern Lepaona villages and Chilivai villages adjoining 18 villages and it continues to be one of the most neglected zone of eastern Senapati district, the border of Senapati Ukhrul district along the Iril River.
